Nothing feels quite so good as the return of the January musical production to Key City Theatre. Featuring the best of the best of our homegrown talent, the January musicals have become a core, beloved part of our season.
This year will take things to a whole new level, with the production of Cabaret. Featuring a timeless musical score with songs such as Wilkommen, Don't Tell Mama and of course, Cabaret, audiences will enjoy a multi layered story packed full of allure, seduction, romance, hope and heartbreak as the characters come together in the last golden hours before the devastating dawn of a new world war.
The dream team behind past hits like Chicago, the Producers and 9 to 5 the Musical has reassembled, led by Director Brenda Burley. "I am thrilled with the talented team that has stepped up to be involved this time around. Our cast is stellar with some familiar faces, and some brand new to our stage. When actors give me full chills at rehearsals, I know we are creating magic. This production is stepping us into a whole new level."
The script and themes will pose new challenges for this seasoned director. "This is my 7th musical, my 5th here at Key City Theatre. Each one has posed its own challenges, and Cabaret is no exception. The story will require all of us to dig deeper than ever before, and to explore themes that are still very relevant in our society today."
Cabaret opens New Years Eve at Key City Theatre and runs January 13 - 15 and 19 - 21.
